Friday Finds Feb 28

I'm 'finding' my way back to doing a little homework this week.

The trouble is sometime I get carried away and can't stop. Just having too much fun I guess. Awhile back Kim had lessons for (1) logos in Beyond Beyond. I had made sketches a couple weeks ago and this week finally played and played and made some into brushes and then actions and started making Watermark presets in Lightroom to export with…. If you make one for the left, then right, and one in black , then white…. you could write a song…. It will take me forever to get all those presets made. I must narrow it down to my most favorites. Here's a shot of all of them. Since I do design work too that's really what started this. I was needing a new logo. That one's been decided on but, you'll be seeing a few random ones on my photos for awhile.
I've been watching (2) Creative Live Photoshop Week as much as possible this week. Loosing sleep to see missed parts. :( But if I don't try out a few things they will not stick in my brain. So I've been editing a few pics and that is also why I've been making watermark presets.
Some more homework for 2B class. (My wonderful valentines present.)

(3) I love shooting flowers by the kitchen window. They always look like they want to go outside.

I should have cropped more off the bottom of this one. Funny how they sometimes look different after a few days.
(4) I found these cool dancers while driving through part of town I hadn't been in awhile. Shot from the car. I just happened to have my camera in the car and was stopped at a long red light. Note to self: go back.
(5) My poor artichoke's leaves all froze this winter, but while cleaning dead stuff away I found not only new growth but a covered up old flower that was full of seeds. Yes, it was time to dig out the Olloclip. Edited in Snapseed.

Friday Finds 7-26

I had a bit of a break from cyber space this week. It actually felt good. Last night I was thinking that I haven't been very present in the 'real' world for awhile and need to do some re-evaluating. (We'll see how long that lasts.)
My Friday find this week is two-fold. Linking up with Kim's Friday Finds.
#1. The Olloclip App. I've had an Olloclip for a quite awhile and use it periodically, mostly for macro shots. It's slid over the camera lens on your phone and is able to do fisheye and wide angle also. The great thing about shooting through the app is that the macro has a loupe view that zooms in a bit closer. Mind you, you are already nearly touching what you are shooting. After the shot you have the choice to adjust your photo, like stretch out a fisheye, etc.
#2. The Olloclip camera case. (I ordered mine from B&H.) It came in the mail this week. LOVE it. It is nice and sleek, almost like not having a case, so I make sure I have a good grip on it while pulling it from my pocket. (Dropped my phone on the concrete this spring and to replace the glass on a 5 is close to $300. Give me a break!) It has a flip corner that opens so you can slide on the Olloclip without removing the case. Be sure to check out how it clicks the shutter too. Pretty snazzy.
Here are shots from this morning, unedited.

Cilantro

Have I mentioned before that I love cilantro? I do. I could eat it in and on everything. Except maybe cereal and milk... It's flowers are dainty and lacy. The seed heads enticing to a photographer. Purplish at the start and golden before they burst forth their seeds. This year they managed to come up all through the lawn. It was the first year the dill DIDN'T. I guess they traded places.

Peony Beginnings

I love their tight little buds. Seems the insects do too. As a child, ours always had ants crawling all over them.
