Mobile Art Monday No. 21

The finished result of a painterly garden edit.

I begin most of my editing in Snapseed to tone, crop, tweak, whatever it needs to generally look good.
While I was there I played with some Retrolux filters and liked the way these with the white edge helped balance the daisies. Unfortunately there is not as much control over the light leaks as there used to be such as rotation. If there is, I haven't found it.

But this is a rabbit trail so back to the 'paint'.
I used my good edit from Snapseed to add paint strokes in the Brushstroke app.
Formula N7 (This will be my bottom layer in Leonardo.)

Formula N6
Did you know you can control the amount of 'paint' applied by sliding your finger across the screen?

Using my good edit from Snapseed I'll create a line drawing in iColorama. (Style>Edges.) I saved 2 at different strengths because the heaviness of the lines wasn't even across the photo. My intent is to mask out portions of each in the next app, Leonardo.

Leonardo is much like photoshop in that you have layers to change blend modes and mask out areas of the layers. Here is a screen shot of the layers.
Note the opacities and blend modes of each layer.
The blend modes on the line art are color burn and overly. This gives a little coloring to the lines rather than having them set to multiply or darken and just being black lines.
I duplicated my second layer in order to paint in more of the poppies. An easy way to do this is to mask out the poppies, then invert the mask.

After saving I opened this photo in PhotoToaster. Why? because this app has a lighten/darken brush that makes it super easy to add dark or light just where you want it. I also added a filter that changed the coloring a bit. (Textures>Old Paper)

Since playtime wasn't over, I opened RePix and with the charcoal brush around the edges, ended up with this.

I still can't believe it's already June. Here's to a summer filled with photographic delight!

Dermott Texas Cemetery

My most recent cemetery jaunt was just off Highway 87 north of Snyder at Dermott.
This tiny cemetery was a few miles off the road. A little gravel, but that's no big deal.
These were taken on my iPhone and processed on the iPad. I haven't even looked at the ones on my camera. What is with me? Has this iphoneography taken control of me?

First two with Vintique.

Grungtastic.
Mextures App and Snapseed.
Noir Photo, I love this app...

This gate was first edited in Photo Toaster and cropped in Snapseed.
Then edited in Noir Photo. Yes this app makes great black and whites.
One last shot in Lo-Mob, 6x6TTV70s.
Oh, and I must not forget the critter that greeted me and kept me from relaxing the whole time I was there. A millipede, approximately 7" long. It was good he showed up so easily on the light-colored ground.
Have a great week end!

App Addict

I am a member of AA. I am an App Addict. It all started when I found the app Project 365. I knew this would be the only way I would manage to take a photo a day, knowing that I could use my iPhone, process it immediately, (if I had time) and post it in 'web space'.
This new found love gives me a chance to get more artsy with my photography.
Here are a few recent pics.
My latest favorite, Windmills 1, Original
After an edit in Phototoaster.
Then I took it into DistressedFX and loved the way I was able to get this effect. I'm finding that I must take notes as I work or I don't remember the trail back to the beginning. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
 Windmills 2, Original
first edit, Snapseed
Then I went back to the original and took it into Phototoaster and came out with this.
Another favorite is PicFX, as shown below.
My old friend Photoshop has sure been missing me.
I thought about adding some birds to this last photo, and I have some that I can add in Photoshop, but I need to load up some of those goodies onto my iPad and learn to do it right there. Since it's after midnight, I'll just go to bed for now.
