Texture Tuesday March 18

These days I'm doing good to post on Tuesday and Friday for link ups. I force myself... Should I be? Or should I do my own thing? Right now my 'thing' is so random I'd have to change my blog name to Randomness by Roxi.
If you don't watch the free intro videos on Creative Live, you don't know what greatness you're missing. Jared Platt did Lightroom videos for Photoshop Week they had a few weeks back. Excellent stuff. Next week he is doing some advanced workflow for 3 DAYS! I may have to take some time off work. He can get really techie on some the stuff he does but a lot of it is just plain good. I edited this photo from what I learned.
First, go to the Hue Sat Panel and reduce each saturation slider to no color. Then I made a preset for that so it wouldn't take so long to repeat the process. Next I pulled some color back into the flower by sliding the orange and yellow slides back a bit until I liked the result. kk_culligan was added and set at Multiply 81%. The original is below. I like the steel grey coldness of this edit with just a touch of warmth for contrast.
So Kim's theme is color for this week, but mine is not bold and bright, but and an option of what you can do with your color.

  3. Great work! And yes, I have probably asked myself that same question. I was short on time and inspiration today and thought, 'do I really have to link up?' But it's kind of addictive and if I miss a week, I really miss seeing 'my gals'.

  5. OMG I love your edit on this image! With so many projects and classes going on at the same time, my blog entries are random too :) I think to force myself to link up on certain days, like you, is a great way get some regularity into my life.

  8. A flower is a flower is a flower and color is in the eye. Love how you portrayed the flower in the vase. Very nice and I like the texture you added. :)

  9. I'm with you on the randomness. I'm trying to get into blogging but I seem to always manage to find something else to do! Love your edit! My favorite on CL is Ben Wilmore he makes learning curves in Photoshop seem like a kindergarten class!
