Sunflower Fields Forever

Every year I embark on a quest to find a sea of yellow.
Since finding this beauty in 2013, a heart shape is always on my list.

This was the closest I could find. Still, it didn't quite compare.

Row upon billowy row of yellow petals.

So thankful to God for such beauty, such a breath-taking splendor, to stand among these.

To touch and gaze into their beautiful faces.

To imagine what they might feel like.

To see the beasts of the air play their role in this season's presentation.

I will always be in search of sunflower fields.

The Peony Chronicles Day 5

It's time for some close ups.

Did you know, that if you decrease the saturation, especially of red shades, you can bring out the detail in your flowers. Last year I took photos of true red poppies and they looked like a solid circle of red with no detail or depth.
I did over do the de-sat on the following photo but I love the light pink. I've added a brush overlay that matches the background color and set it to overlay and reduced the opacity, so it is very subtle. It was removed from the flower by masking. Now that I see it with the rest, I think I may go back and crank up the vibrance a bit.

I can't believe it's a holiday coming up! I'm looking forward to a nice restful weekend, how about you?

Critters -My Outer Space

Just a few days for MOnday's post, but between Photoshop World last week and being sick..... well...
This weeks link up party theme is insects and such in your garden. I borrowed my friend Kathy's Kenko extensions tubes and decided this is next on my purchase list. Made a template in Lightroom but altered it for round corners in PS and played with some solid color shapes to fill spaces.
Rules are simple. Link up below with a direct url to your blog post or Fickr gallery or similar gallery with what's invaded your garden this week.

What's been creeping around your place?
