Friday Finds August 14

I'm linking up with Kim for Friday Finds.
On a recent trip east of Dallas I found some great antique buys. The problem was space in the plane. I would have brought home a small chest of drawers that was missing the drawers, but the paint was awesome. Also several metal chairs would have come home with me. The colors were just incredible. But I settled for a spoon, old bread pan, some photos and great post cards and a 1957 Montgomery Ward catalog. Now, I may have paid too much for it but it's too late now.
I thought this photo post card was very interesting. It reads, "They snapped this of me and I was curious to know what I looked like walking down the street." How funny! I wonder if she's still alive and what she might think about selfies and such of today's generation.
(It was tricky to make this show as 2 different post cards.)

Among the other postcards were some from 1910 but a lot from the early 40's. One was even a German postcard. I thought this was pretty cool too. A book of 'photographs' of the World's Fair in Chicago 1933. Can you believe the postage was 1.5c?

What I loved about it was the vintage style and the watercolor type look to the photos. (they did call them photos) I was thinking about framing all of them but if I do I believe I'll scan or photograph them. I just hate to take the book apart, it's in excellent shape.

How could I resist this cover?
