Introducing the Boy Child

I've been waiting forever it seems for Crew to start sitting up. At 8 months he's sitting up good and crawling like a maniac! So here are some of my favorite shots I got this weekend. To drool or not to drool? That is the question. I touched it up on some, but on others it was just too cute to leave it there.
Crew's first business profile photo! (LOL, we rolled on the floor over this one.)

"Oh, you're such a pushover!"

"Hey Babe, what's shaking?"

"You don't mind a little drool, right?"

"Did you hear ....?"

"Hey Babe! Can I get your number?"

The little guy sat on this chair for quite awhile, only because it had a sagging seat to hold him.

I worked on trying to get my 580II flash to fire off camera the day before and finally gave up. Because the light wasn't as good as I'd hoped, I used my 50 1.8 lens and didn't pay attention half way through and cranked it up to f/4. Well that was a mistake. I ended up with 3200 ISO. Oh well, at least we finally got some photos.

Friday Finds Feb 13

Last weekend I not only hit an estate sale and came home with some goodies, but on one of our trips to 'the folks' my MIL and I checked out an antique store. I feel like I paid a premium for the egg beaters but it was worth it for the turquoise color on the handles. Found some old records, a small crock and a fabulous old spoon that made me swoon.

We are going back tomorrow and we will go hit another one. If my MIL would just let me in her cabinets or garage we wouldn't have to go shopping. LOL

I've found a new sympathy for people with eczema. At 59 and half (for the first time ever in my life) I had a horrible outbreak behind my ear and down my neck. If I had known what it was I wouldn't have scratched it so much at first. It's about been the end of me. I've had to wear my hair in a ponytail for the past three days. Not my best hairdo. But last night I finally got some relief and this morning it looks much better.
(I'll spare you the photo)

I found some free time to shoot Wednesday morning (as that seems to be my only free time lately). Let's see if I'll find some time to process next Wednesday.

I'm still finding that 'simple' has been my thing lately in the still life department. The fewer the objects the better.

I found a sweet girl with play dough from her valentines box. We made hearts.

Can you tell she loves hearts?

I found a sweet baby sleeping on Wednesday night. He's already gained 4 lbs and he's 2 months old.

Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Finding Time

Finding time to process photos and the sweetness of a new baby.
I'm linking up with Friday Finds at Kim's blog today.

It feels like I haven't processed photos in a very long time and this morning I'm falling in love with it all over again. (I've just spent too much time on my iPad… well... there's a season for everything.)
I believe there is more joy to processing photos of little ones than any still life I could ever put together. I've even printed these as I've processed them. Such beauty, such joy.
We've had a new grandson born this week. Crew Edward showed up without too much trouble at 10 lbs. 4 oz. with a head full of dark hair. I think the most exciting thing is to see how his big sister has fallen in love with him. I have the most awesome video but the lighting is dark so it's quite grainy. But I'm working on it in Photoshop with Camera Raw smart filters and hope to put it together with a few shots for a short movie. It's a heart melter so I must make it work.

I caught daddy kissing daughter kissing baby but unfortunately his cap was a bit in the way. I told him at least he knew it was a random moment and is preserved in a photo.

A very proud Paw Paw.

And one last shot of that precious big sister who's learning to ride her bicycle.

A quick update on the craziness around here…. The utility room remodel is 95% finished… I could write a book! In fact I'll have a post soon on expectations. (uh, shaking my head… maybe that's enough to say right there.) And the pumpkins are still on my mantle… maybe this weekend… And my computer is now showing 1453 unread emails. That just can't be right. I need to unsubscribe to a few lists I believe.

Come on over to Kim's blog today and see what kind of great goodies everyone has found/discovered this week.

Texture Tuesday and a Baby

Yesterday was crazy. We had new floor scheduled to be laid in the utility room while the washer and dryer were not present. Our daughter-in-law began having contractions the day before so the stress level was extra high. All turned out good with a 10lb 4oz baby boy named Crew Edward.

I made up a Lightroom preset for red baby skin. I'll try to share it later.
I'm having difficulty getting around to the Christmas decorating. #1. I love my fall stuff too much.
2. I've too many other things going on.
3. Just not in the mood.

This still adorns my mantle and part of the problem with taking it down is that I want to save parts of the branches for later photos. Where and how to store. (My studio has turned into a disaster area again.)
