My first ever silver bracelet was given to me as an adult by my sis-in-law and brother. It was a Christmas gift back in the day when we exchanged names. A bangle with narrow gold edges sported a beautifully tooled western-style design. Normally I didn't like that look in leather goods, but silver, ahhh… It was gorgeous. Donna has long since been gone from this earth due to cancer but I can still feel those same feeling as the day I received it. Worthy, valuable, loved. It was one of the few gifts I've received in my life that overwhelmed me. It's very tarnished now. Of course it was plated, not solid which speaks of the 'pretty' facade that if rubbed against enough times, will reveal the ugliness we desperately try to hide.
Love the DOF used to capture this.
ReplyDeleteI love your story on the first Quick Spark writing prompt. I am enjoying the quick sparks so much, it gives me any easy reason to write every day. Hope we get to read more of your prompts.
