No filter Needed

Some of you may remember a post last September where I had done a quick still life shot of this old camera and the roll of film it still contained. First I had to finish off the film shooting around my yard.

I took it to the local camera shop which of course doesn't do film processing any more, but they agreed that Mr. Printer would do it when he got around to it.
Just two weeks ago I was thinking I'd really rather just have that roll back for shooting stills when low and behold they called and said it was ready.
Apparently I didn't know how to use the camera because none of my shots came out. Here are the 4 that were on the camera.

And no filter was used in these images. Notice the writing on this last one...

I may have to make up a story to go with them. Or perhaps you, my friends, can start one in the comments and everyone just keep adding to it. That sounds more interesting.

Milk and Cookies

I found this awesome little tea cup with no handle on a trip to Santa Fe. It was made by a local potter, who sells under the name of Magpie Pottery. She also made the cute little spoon.
My version of milk and cookies for Be Still 52 is this divine chocolate and some chocolate mint tea from Artful Tea. I've become addicted to Bark Thins, snacking chocolate. (Another great find, or was it?) Before, I could take or leave chocolate, no big deal. My taste has changed.

Another great find this week was a partially shot roll of film in a old camera from my collection. It's an Ansco Color Clipper that was made back in the 40's and 50's.
I was rearranging the shelves and decided to check out the old baby. I'm just old enough to recognize a roll that has more shots on it. It was a bit hard to figure how to even use the camera but I was determined and snapped a few around the house. The film was dropped of at the local camera store today and one of the guys there is going to develop it himself. I'll be real curious to see what shows up.

Beyond Beyond Day 1

Beyond Beyond has begun. The first assignment was to shoot from many angles, take your time and assess. I didn't take much time because I was packing to leave town and figured I'd work on it on the road. But in the end decided to just take my iPad, which was a good decision. When you go to visit the grand baby, you don't get much 'me' time. Which is totally fine with me.
I was pleased with the outcome and just happened to have this photo of my mom laying nearby. She's second from the right, 15 years old.
I found that I liked the angled photos but I also like the straight ones too. I believe if I had used all angled photos, this would not have looked very good at all. I may do a scrapbook page but for now a Lightroom template will do. Texture used was by Kim Klassen, 2701.
You can still sign up for the year-long class of awesome inspiration here. You won't be sorry.

Beyond Layers, Day 101 -Cup Challenge

Back to Beyond Layers... This week, a challenge: a cup, a book, and an accessory. The quote is so NOT me. But I liked it just the same. This is currently what my husband I are reading together at night. (Oh dear, I think we're in for it.) I used Chaos texture by Kim Klassen. twice, once at soft light and once at multiply with low opacity. Added a custom curves adjustment in the blue and green channels. Added brushwork using Grunge Swirl Brushes by me. and then took it into RadLab for a little more adjusting. Text is UglyQua and is set to multiply. see before below...
It was nice to get back to some Photoshop this week. I had been playing too much in Lightroom with editing photos and my computer gets slower if I edit from within Lightroom. sigh.... I may have to try and find a used one year old 17" Macbook Pro to replace my nearly 4 year old one.
After
Before, with just a touch of Camera Raw editing.
