Barefoot

I am rarely out in early morning traffic as I am today on the way to the dentist at 7:45. I remain calm as I mentally remind the tailgater behind me that the speed limit is 40.
My heart goes out to those who have to drive through this every morning on their way to work or taking their kids to school. The day should not begin with stress and anxiety.  It makes me very grateful for living close to where I work and at the edge of town.

Deep in my heart is the longing to return to the simple country life. But even that is a fantasy because I remember the stresses my father went through trying to make a living on the farm.

But in my dream world I would live in the country, wear long dresses and go barefoot every day.
