Sketching on the iPad

I have fallen in love with a great app and stylus for mobile sketching. Since I wasn't much of a 'normal' sketcher to begin with, I have no qualms about digital drawing. Besides, there is no mess and you can take it anywhere. And the best part is the undo button.
The app I use is Procreate. The stylus is the Adonit Jot Touch with Pixelpoint. You could use your finger but who uses their finger to draw on paper?
The original photo was edited in the painterly app Repix. (It's also the same original that I used for the dill photo in the header of this blog.
I used black ink to sketch back in lost detail, then decided to add some white to make it pop more.
I took it back into Repix and ended up turning it into a black and white and found I really like this look.

I'm linking up with Veronica Roth this week. She's doing a sketch challenge. The theme is 'calm', although mine looks like it could be a party, I always find calm in my garden.

  6. Hello Roxi. Thank you for joining in. I love your app art. Oh my goodness, each time I try a little Photoshop are I end up amazing myself and then I look back and think, "did I make that?" And even, "How did I manage that?" So many new things to discover. One of my friends makes the most amazing digital are and she has a London UK based agent and sells her art to all sorts of venues and makes a living out of it. Some of her art is amazing. Hope your weekend is a wonderful one. :D

  7. Roxi, Great work. You can sell your work!!
I am having trouble with Procreate and can not get my stylist or anything to work. Of course they are impossible to contact. But I have been using Bamboo Paper which is not as good. I took the Creative Live drawing everyday because I would like to integrate some drawing in my work. It is amazing that your hand really wants to do something other than push a button. Happy Thanksgiving.
