Friday Finds Feb 20

It's Friday Finds time again. Once more, "Mur" and I went to one of her local antique shops. This one has a ton of booths under one roof. I tried to leave a few things un-purchased for my next visit. This week's stash…

Mur is always horrified at how much I pay for this stuff but these just couldn't be passed up. At another shop I found this 'to die for' green child's chair that I put to good use as a step stool for some 'from above' shots.

I miss my digital scrapbooking…. But not the normal kind. I like this artsy/art journal type. Captivated Visions just came out with this new kit My Wish For You and I was in the mood to play in Photoshop.

We woke up to a nice dusting of snow on Tuesday. So I drove around and discovered a spot close by I wasn't even aware of. It had all melted by 10AM.

I think the sign should say something… Any ideas?

I found time to play in Lightroom this week because work has been slow. Not good for the pocket book, but good for the brain. I've posted several to My Flickr gallery. I'm not in flower mode yet like some of my cyber friends, so it's still dark and moody over at Flickr. But this group is not. Lightroom preset by Pretty Presets.
Sweet Gum balls, and yes they hurt when you step on them. Barefoot Mama here doesn't dare plant one in the yard but their fall foliage can be exquisite.

Have a blessed weekend everyone! We will play the roll of fire ant exterminator this weekend at the 'folks'. What are your plans?

Linking up with Kim for Friday Finds.

  3. Fun finds, love the chair, the snapseed pic of the snow-awesome-great perspective. Yes those gumballs hurt something awful. The fire ants are just always an on going problem...and although I despise chemicals, we do use Amdro for getting rid of them, or at least to control them. It does work best when you treat the entire yard.

  5. You did find some great stuff and I'll be watching to see how you use them in your shots....Gum balls, oh yes...we had two in our front yard when I was growing up and do I remember stepping on those things...I swore I would never have one but your shots do bring back lots of memories...

  6. Great finds! I love those antique malls with lots of booths, so many photo prop ideas. Such a beautiful sky in your fence image and those gum ball images are wonderful, I love the processing and all the different textures.

  7. My goodness, Roxi ... did you leave anything behind? Beautiful treasures! Where do you put all these finds? Oh, yes. Gumballs. We had a gumball tree for several years ... until my husband got tired of cleaning up the gumballs. And, yes, they are painful to step on. Great photos, wonderful processing. I really like the gumball mosaic.

  8. Oh, what treasures did you bring home! Wonderful!
I didn't know the term sweet gum - but thought it's Liquidambar. After I googled it I saw it's the same... I love the trees and their glorious foliage in the fall, but I agree that it's painful to step on the gumballs. But such a beautiful tree.

  10. Roxi, You are a multi-talented woman! I love the variety of your images - different styles and edits - but all so beautiful. Your finds are fabulous! I spent the day with a friend today, and while we usually shop, we had to exercise a little restraint this time as both our budgets are tight. We ended up trading each other stuff from our homes - our own version of Friday Finds!

  15. Oh, you did find some wonderful treasures! Nice "haul"! I also love that first shot of the snow...the starkness of that wire fence, but also the cotton ball texture of the snow on the ground echoed by the clouds in the sky.
