Friday Finds Sept 5

It's Friday Finds and where did the week go? I'm linking up with Kim on her new website!
I have two great finds this week. Antiques and a backdrop that you can get online.

I found this adorable retro set at a large gathering of antique and junk shops. At first I wasn't thrilled with the color, but for the price I wasn't going to give it a second thought. Thinking I would fill the pitcher with a few of the remaining sunflowers from the yard, my mind was changed as I looked at all the purple in my beds. It would look even better than the sunflowers, but this was a 'farewell' to them. So they had to be included. (A sad little bouquet from this angle.)

Before texture. 1/30 sec at f/8 ISO 1600

I actually got a lot of mileage from this flower picking which you'll see a lot of if you follow me on Instagram or check out my feed in the sidebar over the next few days.
Here's just a few, all shot with my Canon.
 1/90 sec at f/5.6 ISO 3200

 1/30 sec at f/5.6 ISO 1000

 1/90 sec at f/5.6 ISO 1600

1/60 sec at f/4.5 ISO 1250
I shot in aperture priority mode and you can tell from my metadata that I didn't have much light coming in the window. I think I am finally ready to play a little more with manual settings.

Another great find was my backdrop! It is from Leen the Graphics Queen. Looks like real worn white boards, right? It is is a reproduction printed on a vinyl printed sheet. I got two, the other is great chippy paint with a mixture of colors (blues, some turquoise, a little green). You can find them both here.
They are 28" x 28", which is a perfect size to cover my kitchen island for a little food photography too.
