The Reward

While sitting at a restaurant yesterday, hubby notices a young family of 5 sitting across the way. As he struggles with the prompting of the Lord for a bit, we go over to them and he shares a word that they are a 'blessed' family, 'favored'. Before he was even able to get the words out the parents were tearing up. They explained how hubby's dad, Grandpa, had cancer and the doctor just that morning told them to call in the family. The sweet part was that Grandpa had just accepted Jesus as Savior last week. My heart was turned more toward Grandpa than the family and I considered his struggle with regretting not doing that earlier in his life. This morning as I pondered all this. I was reminded of the bible story of the employer who had hired people to work and they all started at different times that same day. But at the end of the day they were all paid the same. It doesn't matter the hour we join the crew, the paycheck at the end is eternal life. He is a good and holy God. (and the song that played in my head was After All(Holy) by the David Crowder Band.)
